Ahhh Pheromones

Finding the perfect fragrance to complement your natural pheromones (and style) seems like it’s a never ending quest. And it’s not, because our body chemistry is always changing and so is our desire to smell differently during different parts of the day, seasons of the year and simply when our mood changes. It’s all about self-expression and with so many options available, understanding what you’re looking for via personal preference could help you get there a little faster.

So, pheromones are an invisible chemical signal that all of our bodies emit all the time, so you want to find one that compliments that because the same fragrance won’t smell the same on everyone. Kinda cool, right? So, you’re going to want to familiarize yourself with different “fragrance families,” like florals, citrus, fruity, woody and even musky smells. Then get to testing them out. You can request samples from your local perfume counter that you can try on for size throughout the week to get a feel for your future fragrance of choice.

Make sure too, that you always test a bit on your skin to watch for an allergic reaction such as a rash because there's always a chance that could happen. Now, consider the season you’re in. Different perfumes suit different occasions and times of year. When it’s warmer consider a fresher and lighter scent and when it cools down aim for a deeper and spicier combination. Combining scents or layering them is also a great way to create your own special brew of perfume that no one else has or can even identify. Jo Malone scents are great scents to try this with. But in the end trust your instinct. You know when you like how you smell and you know when you don’t. Well...at least we hope so.
