Smooth Summer Skin
Summer is here, in case you weren’t aware, it’s basically all we can talk about, but it's the perfect time to let your skin shine with a healthy and radiant glow. One essential step in achieving that desired summer glow is exfoliation. Exfoliation not only helps to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores but also promotes better absorption of moisturizers and other skincare products, leaving you with a fresh and rejuvenated complexion. And if we’re being honest when we’re on our summer vacay or relaxing by the pool the last thing we want is dry, dead skin so here’s what we’re doing to make sure we’re smooth all summer long.
There are numerous tools out there that you can use to exfoliate such as scrubs, cleaners, dry brushes and exfoliating gloves. The first step is to do some research on which works best for your needs and the areas you want to focus on exfoliating. Once you’ve narrowed this down, you can get to work. For one, always exfoliate on wet skin unless you’re using a dry brush; make sure your body is wet before applying any product. Always make sure to exfoliate in small, gentle and circular motions to make sure to not tear or cause irritation to your skin. Next, you want to make sure that for more sensitive areas such as bikini lines, that you take extra care to be gentle and use a milder product in these areas.
Our final and most crucial note is to always moisturize after you exfoliate! When we exfoliate we are stripping our skin of its natural oils so we want to always apply a moisturizing lotion and body oil after we exfoliate. Also, it’s important to note that you should not be exfoliating every morning or night, it’s best to keep it to once or twice a week. By keeping this cycle consistent, it’s guaranteed to be a smooth girl summer.
